What changed · what do I do now
In September 2026 PyBLØCK moved its pools to DATUM and redesigned the site at the same time. This page is the short version: what it was, what it is now, and the one next step for you. If your miner is already hashing and you see your address on the pool page, you do not need to do anything.
What changed, in order
- 8 Sep · block 970,000 — the CAROUSEL starts on :23112 (ASIC) and :4445 (GPU/CPU).
- 23 Sep — CHIRP moved 100% to DATUM. Same ports (:5574, :23113), same address; your tenure and 24h power were kept. Fee now 0% (100% to the syndicate).
- 24 Sep — port :30110 is now reserved for rentals. Your own miners go to :23112 (ASIC) or :4445 (GPU/CPU).
- Site — the menu uses runes as icons (the names are always next to them); the FUTHARK page explains each one.
- 2 Oct — CHIRP and WAVICLES cut their fee to 0%.
- Block 977,350 (~15 Oct) · SV1 penalty — mining through a PyBLØCK public stratum leaves 77% of the block to the pool (on CAROUSEL, 77% pool + 1% supplier). With your own DATUM gateway there is no penalty. Running rentals are exempt and finish where they are; new ones go only to your own gateway.
- Block 979,920 (~end of Oct) — Bitcoin Knots 29.4.3 extends coinbase maturity: coins mined from block 973,440 stay locked until 1 Sep 2027. Upgrade your node before that block. Today it is a release candidate: if the final release changes anything, this page changes with it.
Network changes (consensus)
Changes to the BLAKE2b chain rules by block height. A node older than the minimum still follows the chain, but blocks it builds can be rejected, so a miner on an old node can lose a block it finds.
- Long coinbase maturity — active since block 973,440 · needs Bitcoin Knots v29.4.2.knots20260508 or newer
- BLAKE2b fork rules (reduced data) — active since block 961,640 · needs Bitcoin Knots v29.4.1.knots20260508 or newer
- Minimum today: Bitcoin Knots v29.4.2.knots20260508. PATUM checks your node and updates the one it installed.
- Next: block 979,920 — Long coinbase maturity extended to 1 Sep 2027 (Knots 29.4.3, release candidate), needs Bitcoin Knots v29.4.3.knots20260508rc1. · release candidate — the final release is not out yet · Bitcoin Knots release notes

BeforeCAROUSEL on :23112, or CHIRP on :23113 through the old stratum.
NowCHIRP :23113 runs a DATUM gateway of PyBLØCK · WAVICLES :23114 (DATUM) · CAROUSEL :23112 (stratum). Starting difficulty 4,096 on all of them.
Your next stepFrom block 977,350 these ports are public stratum: they pay 77% of the block to the pool. To keep it all, run your own DATUM gateway with PATUM and point the miner there (starting difficulty 4,096). Until that block, keep your pool line: user = your BTC address (optional .worker), any password. If it pointed at :30110, move it to :23112.

BeforeCAROUSEL on :4445, or CHIRP on :5574 through the old stratum.
NowCHIRP :5574 (DATUM) · WAVICLES :23115 (DATUM) · CAROUSEL :4445 (stratum). Starting difficulty 1.
Your next stepFrom block 977,350 these ports are public stratum: they pay 77% of the block to the pool. To keep it all, run your own DATUM gateway with PATUM. Need a miner? One line builds pyblock-miner:
git clone https://gitlab.com/astrolexis-group1/pyblock-miner.git && cd pyblock-miner && ./build.sh
I run a Bitcoin Knots node (DATUM node-runner)
BeforeYour node could only supply templates; the block was assembled by PyBLØCK.
NowWith your own DATUM gateway your node builds and publishes the block; PyBLØCK only sets the coinbase. Lower fee than through our gateway.
Your next stepEasiest: the PATUM installer (one click). Or one line on the node:
curl -fsSL https://b.pyblock.xyz:8443/gateway | sh -s -- chirp YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS
curl -fsSL https://b.pyblock.xyz:8443/gateway | sh -s -- carousel YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS
Needs Knots ≥ 29.4.2 on the BLAKE2b chain, and 29.4.3 before block 979,920. If you rent ASICs to your gateway, set
"vardiff_min": 4096. Add blockreservedweight=60000 to bitcoin.conf and restart: this chain caps blocks at 800,000 WU and Knots' default (8,000) leaves no room for a WAVICLES/CHIRP coinbase; our own node rejected block 974536 because of it.Template supplier (/join)
BeforeSame script, same idea.
NowTemplates must be spam-free:
datacarrier=0 in bitcoin.conf, Knots ≥ 29.4.2 BLAKE2b. Verify your address so nobody can publish as you.Your next stepRe-run the line (it updates itself), then verify at supplier_verify:
curl -fsSL https://b.pyblock.xyz:8443/join | sh -s -- YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS "Your name"
